Jakarta, Spasi-id.com - the giraffe we know today is original Africa, but about 20 million years ago, their ancestors also wandered all over Europe and Asia.

Quoted from idntime.com which rallied the Girrafe World page, the primordial giraffe looked like a deer and was much shorter than the modern giraffe.

However, there are some scientific debates about how the neck of a giraffe can be very long as it is today.

Lamarck's theory introduced in the early 1800s states that the scarcity of food in the soil makes giraffe instinctively lift their neck as high as possible to reach food.

But over time, the neck size became longer that allowed the giraffe to survive.

Charles Darwin had another theory about survival of the fittest. He believed that some giraffe had genetic mutations that allowed them to develop longer necks.

These males then breed and lower the genetic code to the next generation.

Meanwhile, a male who doesn't eat enough won't be able to mate with a female until he dies without any offspring.
