Russia, Spasi-id.com - the Pentagon calls Russia beginning to lose huge armies over six months of invasion to Ukraine. To cover up the flaws, the country Putin led is trying to recruit a convict and an old man to raise an army.
As the AFP reported, quoted Tuesday (30 / 8 / 2022), Russia even recruited many new soldiers from older people, and less training.
Also reported Russian President Vladimir Putin last Thursday, will start recruiting in January next year. Targeted, the number of state soldiers is increasing by about 10 percent to 1.15 million soldiers.
However, the Russian effort to add the number of troops personnel to the target will not be enough.
"After six months of invaded Ukraine, Russia suffered significant setbacks and lost a great army. The Pentagon believes that this effort may not work, because Russia historically does not meet its target personnel and powers," said senior defense officials.
The Russians aren't playing around to power the troops. Even the terms of recruitment expanded with the purpose of adding enough army numbers.
"Even the upper age limit for recruits has just been removed. Not only that, also by recruiting prisoners. Many of these new recruits look older, unworthy and untrained," said the officer.
The Pentagon assessed the recruitment way, not effectively expanding the overall combat force by the end of the year.
The officer also revealed that the target of the Russian armed forces is less than 150,000 of them declared a million.
