Kuala Lumpur, Spasi-id.com - After the Judge has rejected his appeal efforts in the case of corruption, the former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak began serving a 12-year sentence in Kajang Prison.

According to the report, Najib Tun Razak arrived at Kajang Prison, Selangor, Tuesday (23 / 8 / 2022), around 1847 hours local time to serve his sentence. The Fellowship Court Judge's panel rejected the appeal efforts filed regarding SRC International Sdn Bhd's abuse of 42 million ringgant Malaysia (Rp 183.85 billion).

Najib also has to pay a fine of 210 million ringgits or equal to Rp 693.79 billion.

At the end of the trial the judge announced a warrant for Najib began serving time in prison. The chairman of Justice Tung Tung Tun says, after examining the evidence, the record of appeal, the appeal is unprovoked.

Maunu Tengku Tun who led the court of judges of five people rejected Najib's request to put aside faith and punishment by the Supreme Court on July 28, 2020.

Najib's chief advisor Hilyam Tea Poh Teik was able to hold off his execution while awaiting the application for review of today's decision. But her request was denied.

The other judge on that panel is Chief Judge Sabah and Sardau Brother Iskil Brother Hashim and the Federal Court Judge Nallini Pathmanthan, Mary Lim Thiam Suan and Mohamad Zabidin Mohd.
