Jakarta, Santas-id.com - the governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan changed the name of the old city tourist area to Batavia.
The rendition, according to Anies, as part of designing Old Town becomes a city of the future.
According to Anies, the name Batavia is called chosen because it reflects the past, but it is designed and packed as a modern city of the future.
"This town is called Old Town, but we redesigned it so that the Old City became a city of the future, called Batavia reflecting the past, but its concept brightens the modern city of the future. It's being built in this place," said Anies in his welcome at the reopening of the Old Town and Groundbreaking CP202 MRT, in Old Town, West Jakarta.
Anies explains the revitalized region of the Old Town as a passageway will provide more pedestrian space.
"So the journey here is a journey to experience the past but its concept of modern concepts," it says.
He hoped the public would experience time travel when visiting Old Town.
