Spasi- id, The geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East is heating up after Tehran has officially filed seven strict conditions for Washington.
Iran delivered seven conditions to the United States which must be fulfilled before Tehran reopened the Strait of Hormuz for its normal voyage.
That information was conveyed by sources who knew the issue to the Iranian news office, Tasnim, on Sunday (13 / 9 / 2026). That source says the Straits of Hormuz will remain closed until all the requirements that Iran has approved are met.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most strategic energy trade paths. Before the conflict took place, about a fifth of the world's oil supply passed through the waters connecting the Persian Gulf to the Oman Bay.
The Iran@@
The development appeared after Iran and Oman discussed setting sailing lanes through the Straits of Hormuz.
However, the deal between Tehran and Muscat doesn't automatically mean the Straits of Hormuz will be completely opened. Reuben reports that the arrangement is more directed at the possibility of forming a shipping corridor and the ship's traffic management mechanism. Iran still requires the finality of its demands by the US before reopening that line.
Meeting between Iran and a number of Gulf countries that were originally scheduled to take place in Oman on Monday (14 / 9) is also delayed. Foreign Secretary Oman said the delay was to make room for the exposed consensus among the countries involved.
As such, hope will reach a swift agreement about the unveiling of the Strait of Hormuz again facing uncertainty.
Traffic is still Limited.
The interference with the voyage has put pressure on global energy trade.
Reuters' tracking data shows the number of commodities ships passing through the Straits of Hormuz down to a one-digit level per day on the weekends, far below average 10 days earlier that reached about 14 ships per day. That number hasn't calculated a ship that may shut down its automatic tracking system.
Things got complicated after a ship reported projectile crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The incident caused a fire and forced the crew to be evacuated, according to British maritime security the UKMTO quoted the Reuters.
Iran also reported a commercial ship Iran was attacked off the coast of the country. One was reported dead and a number of men were injured.
Repressed Oil Price
The uncertainty in the Straits of Hormuz comes along with a disturbance to other energy lines in the Middle East.
Reuben reported oil prices surging more than 3% on Monday (14 / 9) after the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia interrupted one of the country's main oil distribution routes.
Saudi Arabia temporarily stopped its eastern pipeline operations, which became one of the alternatives to transmit oil without passing the Strait of Hormuz.
If the disturbance lasts longer, the oil supply at the port of the Red Sea of Saudi Arabia is estimated only enough to maintain export for about five to seven days. Reuben estimates up to 4% of the global oil supply is potentially impacted if the disruption of the pipeline is prolonged.
World Energy Market Critical Point
For global markets, the development in the Straits of Hormuz came to attention because it was one of the most important points in oil and gas distribution.
The longer the ship's traffic is interrupted, the greater the risk of rising shipping costs, the premiums of energy risk, as well as the price of crude oil on the international market.
