Jakarta, Spami-id.com - Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has its own reasons for not launching electric motors. Although, some time ago they had claimed to introduce 10 models of electric motors by the end of the year.

The growth of electric motors in Indonesia is so rapid as government acceleration and the birth of a new manufacturer in the country introduced its product. AlSI recorded at least 43 electrical motor producers minus Kawasaki and Suzuki.

Marketing Director AHM Tetsuya Komine explained his side doesn't want to rush to launch an electric motor. The Japanese manufacturer wanted to study the strategy of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

"A while back, Japanese Honda Motor laid out a global electric motor strategy. AHM will announce its strategy concretively by the end of the year," said the Komine on Plant 5 Honda Carbular, West Java, recently.

As you know, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has issued a rule about transition acceleration from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles. In fact, Inpres has also been issued which obliges government officials to use electric vehicles.

"We are aware of the government's impulse to electrification. So we're going to go to great lengths to support what the government has to offer," says Komine.

On the same occasion, the Marketing Director Thomas Wijaya was also unable to confirm when Honda's production of electric motors could be scaling. He's doing the same thing that Honda is studying the strategy of electrical vehicles.

"We have much to learn. It's not just about removing electric motors, but also about the ecosystem of battery charging locations or battery swaps we have to think about," Thomas said.
