Jakarta - the Indonesian government of the Republic (RI) received an award for rice food resistance from the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) at the State Palace on August 14, 2022.
The IRRI award is awarded, because the RI government is rated to have a good food resistance system and successfully swasembada of rice in the 20192021 period.
This award refers to "Acknowledgment for Achieving Agrising Agri- Food System Resiency and Rice Self Sufficiency during 2019- 2021 through the Application of Rice Innovation Technology" or "The Tough Food System Award and Swasembada.
On that note, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) thanked the farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture. He also appreciates the Chief of State like the Governor and the Regent.
Thanks to his cooperation, Jokowi said, the RI government is awarded the award. "I want to thank you very much, especially the real doers who work in the rice fields, the Indonesian farmers," said Jokowi quoting the President's Youtube Secretary.
Jokowi also assessed the main factor of that award given due to the production of rice at RI continues to increase and is consistent. From 2019 to 2021, the production of rice is 31.3 million tons.
He exposed, based on data from the Statistic Center (BPS), the most recorded rice stock in April of this year, 10.2 million tons.
