Jakarta, Spami-id.com - scientists believe the havoc that can wipe out all the life of this planet happens every 27 million years.
It was delivered by Richard Babach, a paleontologist from the Smithsonian Institute.
"At least, in the last 500 million years, there has been an explosion that led to extinction every 27 million years," said Richard quoted from Telegraph, Saturday (13 / 8 / 2022).
Richard's own opinion, by his partner, Adrian Melott, who was an astrophysicist from the University of Kansas, United States.
Periodic mass extinction had been revealed before, and they said that the Sun looked very large, and the dark planets orbiting every 27 million years.
And then, bringing the rain comets out of the Oort cloud to the outskirts of the solar system and sending comets into the Earth.
Nevertheless, the order of time-scale extinction that these two scientists are considered excessive.
The time 500 million years have been searched further by Dr. Melott and Dr. Babach, where it reaches almost twice as much as the previous research. (Tan)
